FLASHBAND consists of an aluminium-facing strip backed with a new and improved pressure-sensitive sealing compound. A special siliconised release paper that must be removed before use protects this compound. Once applied FLASHBAND can be left to face all weather conditions without further attention.

PREPARATION:
Ensure that surfaces to be covered are clean and dry and free from all foreign matter. Remove all flaking paint, putty, surface rust etc., with wire brush or similar tool.
N.B. On rough or porous surfaces e.g. cement, masonry, concrete etc., use Flashband Primer as prime coat and' allow to cure thoroughly. On new galvanisings etch first.

APPLICATION:
Unroll strip and remove siliconised paper backing. Press firmly onto surface and smooth down centre of strip by hand, by applying even pressure lengthwise. On angular structures and glazing bars ensure that FLASHBAND is pressed firmly into the angle. If necessary overlap adjoining surfaces by at least 12mm. For spiral application wind the strip evenly around the pipe or bar, taking care that each successive turn overlaps the previous one by approximately one third of the width of the strip, smoothing down overlap with hand pressure to effect an even seal. For smooth and even appearance of FLASHBAND use hand roller or smooth wood. In cold weather it is advisable to slightly warm FLASHBAND to improve adhesive properties.

FLASHBAND can be over painted using a 100% Acrylic coating.
